After almost 3 years, doesn't hold up well
My wife is the primary user of this laptop. She takes pretty good care of it, although admittedly not the BEST care of it. Some of the keyboard buttons don't work anymore. One of them is her fault, the rest are just wear and tear. The left mouse button has to be mashed very hard to respond as do some of the other keys. The battery life was never very good and now it doesn't work at all - and the power cable has a short in it so if you dont hold it just right it turns off. Very annoying. At first it was a good computer, but now it's really slow and breaking down physically.

Not all that exciting.... and not too terribly robust.
It's a PC after all. Anyway, a bit on the slow side, but used it from time to time to do things that were not supported via Mac.
Worked pretty OK. Until today. The Ethernet connection no longer works... no matter what I plug into it, it does not recognize anything as being plugged in.
Probably used it all of 80 hours, maybe... Pretty cr***y, if you ask me.
(Personally never had anything so significant fail on any of my Macs.)

VAIO VGN FS760
Great screen and decent keyboard. The battery life is pretty good for me, I've gotten 3 hours out of it if wlan is off and I'm only running Word or Excell. What keeps me from giving it 5 stars is the software bundle (no nero burning rom, and roxio sucks) and the graphics card. Dedicated or not, 128 or not, virtually no ATI products, including tv tuners work with this machine. I'm not sure if this is ATI's fault or Nvida's but I'm still stuck with my TV Wonder USB 2 and I can't get it to work.

Good Laptop (last you a few years at least)
The Sony FS760 is a solid laptop that also has a dedicated video card which is why I bought it. It may only be a Geforce Go 6400 but at least it's something. The machine is plenty powerful w/ a 1.86 Ghz Pentium M (Centrino) processor. The 512 MB of ram may be upgraded in the future but the dedicated video and strong processor keep me from doing it in such a hurry. I love this computer except for the fact I am a moron and dropped it. It's what I'm using right now. The top metal latch is loose but it's not broken. Valuewise its a little steep but I would never consider getting anything less than a Turion or Centrino in a laptop. I feel it was a good purchase but an expensive one that will pay off in time as I go to school and enjoy it in my free time.
Pros:
Excellent screen
DVD Burner and Sony Software allows for easy backup
Power Schemes including VAIO ultimate battery
Solid battery life (2 or 3 hours depending on what one is doing)
Does not get very hot
Cons:
Sony lies about battery life (Not 5 hours)
Empty space on top could be used for media options
Too easy to move mouse when typing (Common for a lot of Laptops)
It's a Sony (I still use my Playstation 2)
512 MB of ram (Should be 1GB) that's cause I don't want to upgrd

I'm not huge on Sony software or their name which is why I feel
I probably paid $100 more than I needed to but when it comes
down to it, even "newer" laptops probably won't beat the features of this Sony. Part to part comparison, this laptop will still be better than a basic laptop in 4 years easily.
