Sony Wireless Speaker
WE love the Sony Wireless Speaker... it is portable and the sound is excellent. One problem... the on/off button is prone to failure and they don't want to repair it they want to sell you a refurbished unit for $94.

Sony Wireless Speaker Good Enough
The best thing about this is that I can walk around in the house with the speaker on battery in the morning while I'm getting ready for work and listen to my favorite news podcast.
The reception isn't perfect, especially if my body gets in the way of the signal and if I'm behind some closed doors.
My wife is generally not that impressed with it and if it was up to her, we'd be returning it. Most places in the kitchen cannot pickup the signal or its horribly spotty. p\Probably because of the portable phone or the microwave or who knows what. But her biggest beef is that for a wireless device we end up with so many new wires: wires to plug the base in. Wires from the base to the laptop. Wires to the speaker charger.
All in all, its just good enough so that its not worth the hassle of packing it up and returning. I want better reception and it would have been better if the base could wirelessly connect to the laptop.

Adding Additional Speakers
If you want to buy additional speakers to go with the single speaker included here, order item SRS-RF90R (the SPEAKER ONLY). In our house, we use one transmitter with five speakers, each in different rooms. Transmitter in the basement works fine with the speakers all the way up in third-floor bedrooms.
Additional Comments
===================
- Overall we're very happy with this product.
- Sound quality is good, but not equal to a wired speaker.
- Experiment with placement of the speakers AND placement the transmitter. This affects sound quality, transmission distance, and noise. We found that best location for the transmitter was actually in the basement.
- Rechargeable battery is a great feature. We often take speakers outside for parties.
- "Noise filter" switch on back of transmitter actually seems to increase noise. We turn it off.
- Overall build quality of the speakers is very high, except for flimsy plastic reflector. We've dropped them a few times with no damage. They also look nice.
- Note for iTunes users: We use these speakers to listen to iTunes throughout the house. To control iTunes remotely from anywhere in the house, we use Griffin Airclick USB.

Great product all-around but be sure to kill any radio interference...
Great product all-around but be sure to kill any radio interference or else you will have a hell of a time getting quality sound out of these babies. When you do find a good spot, my recommendation is to place them high up on a shelf or something like that, they work fantastic. Remember to check what radio interference is around the 900 MHz range (e.g. cell phone?) in your area and whether or not the room you want to send the signal has any large or metal obstacles in the way which can also degrade the signal.
