Editorial Product Review:Item Description:Apple's Mighty Mouse comes to save the day. In a world where mice have become humdrum functional appliances, Apple's engineers and designers have developed a better, more refined mouse for better productivity and enhanced ease-of-use. When used with OSX Tiger, the Mighty Mouse roars. Unlike any other mouse on the market, Mighty Mouse was designed specifically to work with Mac OS X Tiger. Up-to-the minute information on Dashboard is only a click away. Viewing, hiding and selecting your windows via Exposé is just as simple. And because Mac OS X Tiger makes Mighty Mouse programmable, you choose where every click takes you. Mighty Mouse offers 360-degree scrolling capability, thanks to its Scroll Ball, perfectly positioned to roll smoothly under just one finger. Explore the farthest reaches of your files ? pan images in iPhoto, view timelines in iMovie HD and Final Cut Pro, traverse bars in GarageBand and Logic Pro ? with one hand tied behind your back (or holding a cup of coffee or typing). Mighty Mouse gives you room to roam. Ellipical Shape System Requirements - Mac OS X (programmability requires Mac OS X v10.4.2 Tiger or later), or Windows 2000 or Windows XP (not all features may be available when used with Windows or earlier OSX versions)

Brilliant... until it breaks
The Apple Mighty mouse (in both USB and wireless formats) is a worthy contender for the best mouse ever made. In particular, its tiny hyper-sensitive vertical & horizontal scroll button genuinely speeds up on-screen "productivity" to a level that, once you've got used to it, nothing else will do. Brilliant, that is until the scroll button stops working which in my case is about every 9 to 12 months. Bad news then... well yes, no piece of kit should do this, but right or wrong that's the way it is and when it happens I happily shell-out for a new one because it's that good to use. Look on it as the world's best disposable mouse and you won't be disappointed...

Five stars only If the cable was longer
Great gadget. Every feature works perfectly. But... The cable is too short. It should be ok if you connect the mouse to a USB plug on a keyboard. But I bought it to use with my MacBook. Bad idea. The fact is: after using a wireless mouse for months I just wanted a regular one. The wireless mouse looks perfect in concept. But when it gets out of juice at the worst moments you just think: why I didn't buy it with a cord, dammit! Another thing I don't like about the cordless mouses is that they tend to drop from the table and go (with a bang!) to the floor. A mouse with a cable has a safeguard: it doesn't let it go straight to the floor. Think about it before getting into the wireless hype.

Don't Buy it unless you like downtime while cleaning the scroll wheel
The mouse itself is sleek, slick and effortless to use. However, it loses ALL of it's stars (and Apple loses alot of my good will), because of the scroll wheel issue. If you don't believe me just go out on the 'net and search "mighty mac scroll down" and watch the anger rise up from cyberspace. I am FAR from alone.
I bought my iMac Pro in December of 2007 and I'm ALREADY on my second mouse- both of them with the same exact problem. After a very short while, you will notice the scroll wheel not working when you're scrolling down. ALOT.
So, you have to stop what you're doing, blow into the hole AND / OR clean the wheel with a damp cloth AND / OR turn the mouse over and roll it around on a cloth or a piece of paper to dislodge whatever miniscule dust or dirt particle gets in the wheel house of the mouse. You can't open up the mouse without a major hassle so you're left frustrated and wanting to switch to Logitech bad. It doesn't seem to take much- any microscopic little bit of dust or dirt that gets in there will see you spending plenty of time trying to get the thing working properly. And when you do fix it, it won't take long for the very same problem to recur.
On the other hand, it's a great mouse if you work in a freakin' clean room.
The store felt replaced my first one at no cost and when I was there to pick up this new replacement the guy said "I doubt you'll have much better luck with this one, to be honest".

Great addition for your Mac, but scroll ball is so-so.
First off, I don't own this product. I used it for ten minutes at a local store. So, anyway, here we go:
When I used the MM (Mighty Mouse), I thought that Apple had made another great product. After another few minutes, I became a bit disenchanted because the scroll ball was so hard to use. Other than that, I loved the mouse. It's great that you can squeeze it to call up the Dashboard (default; you can change what this does) and click the scroll ball to do something else (Spaces, maybe).
All in all, this is a great mouse and a good choice to buy for your Mac.
